Queen Elizabeth's School in Barnet is an all boys Grammar School located in North London, with around 1200 pupils.

Hollins were commissioned in 2002 to design a replacement 25m, 8 lane pool and convert the existing pool building into a new multi purpose Hall for 900 pupils. The school's brief was for a 25m pool capable of accommodating water polo and swimming competitions, with the ability to cater for learners.

The overall structure of the pool is an externally exposed steel frame with large single span Glulam beams and timber decking which is exposed internally. The Northern end is fully glazed giving views across the school's playing fields and distant landscape.

The pool was opened in 2006 by the school's Chairman of the Governors and has proved a great success with the school.
